Double Velvet Eyelash Extensions Cape Town

What to Expect

What are Double Velvet Extensions?

Double Velvet Eyelash Extensions lashes are the perfect little step up from Classic extensions.

They are still C-curl lashes applied one-to-one, meaning one extension is applied to one natural lash. The difference is in the tip: instead of ending in one point, the tip splits into two fine points.

This gives the lash a little more width, texture and dimension than a traditional Classic extension.

Think of Double Velvet as:

Classic + a split tip = a little more fullness. 🤍

They sit beautifully between Classic and Hybrid lashes, making them perfect if you want something slightly fuller without moving into a true volume fan.

So how are Double Velvet lashes different from Volume?

Classic: one extension → one natural lash → one tip

Double Velvet: one extension → one natural lash → two split tips

Volume: multiple ultra-fine extensions → one natural lash

Double Velvet is not a volume fan. It is still a one-to-one application — the split tip simply creates a little more dimension.

Why choose Double Velvet Extensions?

🤍 You want more than Classic, but less than Hybrid

If you love the clean look of Classics but want just a little more fullness, Double Velvet is the perfect in-between.

🤍 You love a mascara look

You still get that defined, separated appearance, but the split tips give you a little extra dimension.

🤍 You want a subtle step up

They’re more noticeable than Classics without suddenly giving you a very fluffy or dramatic look.

🤍 You’re coming from Classic lashes

If you’ve been wearing Classics and want to experiment with a little more fullness, this is a really natural next step.

Will Double Velvet lashes make my lashes look fuller?

Yes — just subtly.

The split tip gives the lash line more width and dimension than a traditional Classic extension.

They won’t create the same density as a Volume fan, but they will give you a slightly fuller, softer and more textured appearance.

Are Double Velvet extensions suitable for everyone?

Your natural lashes always come first.

I’ll look at your natural lash length, thickness, density and condition before deciding what is appropriate for you.

Because Double Velvet is still applied one-to-one, the final fullness will depend partly on how many healthy natural lashes you have.

Your natural lashes are the foundation of your set.

Will Double Velvet extensions damage my natural lashes?

When correctly selected and professionally applied, extensions should be chosen and applied with the health of your natural lashes in mind.

The extension needs to be an appropriate length and weight for your natural lash, and proper isolation is essential.

And as always:

Healthy natural lashes > maximum drama. 🤍

How long do Double Velvet extensions last?

Double Velvet extensions follow your natural lash cycle.

When a natural lash naturally sheds, the extension attached to it sheds too.

Most clients will benefit from an infill around 2–3 weeks to keep their set looking fresh and full, although retention varies from person to person.

Do I have to wear mascara with Double Velvet extensions?

Nope! 😂

That’s the whole point.

Double Velvet gives you the darkness, definition and curl you would normally reach for mascara to create — with a little extra fullness from the split tips.

Wake up, brush them through and you’re ready to go.

What will my Double Velvet set actually look like?

Double Velvet can be customised through the lengths and mapping used to suit your eyes and the look you’re after.

Soft & natural 🤍
Subtle length and definition with a hint of extra fullness.

Mascara+ 🖤
Dark, defined and slightly fuller than a Classic set.

Soft & textured ✨
A little more dimension while keeping that clean, separated appearance.

Are Double Velvet lashes good for a first appointment?

Absolutely.

If you’re nervous about extensions but want something slightly more noticeable than Classic, Double Velvet is a gorgeous place to start.

It’s still very wearable — just with a little extra something.

How do I know if Double Velvet lashes are right for me?

Ask yourself:

“Do I want the clean, defined look of Classics, but with a little more fullness?”

If yes — Double Velvet is probably your girl. 🤍

If you want more texture and fluff, look at 3D Hybrid.

If you want a fuller, fluffier lash line, look at 3D or 5D Volume.
